Charlotte Keim-Chavez, 80, of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully at her home on June 16th 2026 after enduring a second battle with cancer. Despite the difficulty of her fight, her humor and kindness never faltered, providing steadfast comfort to her loved ones.
Born in Abilene, Kansas, she was the beloved daughter of Ruth and Kenneth Keim, whom she moved to Albuquerque with in 1961 and remained near to for their entire lives.
Charlotte was absolutely devoted to her family, friends, and colleagues at Kirtland Airforce Base, where she built a 37 year career. She is survived by her siblings (Steven Keim and Susie Commenator), three children (Gregory Lunceford, Karen Lunceford, and Kathy Barrios), five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom she cared for and loved in ways that can not be translated to print. Charlotte was preceded in death and is finally reunited with her parents and her partner of 35 years (Claude Chavez).
A Memorial Service will be held on July 31, 2026 at 2pm at French Funerals- 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE Albuquerque, New Mexico.
