William "Bill" Burt

d. March 2, 2021

William “Bill” James Burt, 77, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Katherine Burt; his daughter Roxanne Rodriguez; granddaughters Alei Maxson and Brei Brooke along with their husbands, Garrett Maxson and Christian Brooke; great-granddaughter Charlotte “Critter” Maxson and his son Roy Burt and his family.

Bill was born on January 14th, 1944 and was raised in the suburbs of Chicago with his parents Ruth and Daryl Burt and younger sister, Cynthia Garcia. After graduating high school, he served in the US Army from 1965-1967, serving a tour in the jungles of Panama. In 1974, he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he met and married his wife, Katherine. Bill began his trucking business in 1980. Bill loved to truck around the country with his wife at his side. They were fortunate to travel to 49 states during their 30 years of trucking. Bill’s favorite hobbies and interests were camping, taking photographs, watching action movies, spending time near his pool in the summer and over the last five years he developed a skill for cooking. He will be truly missed and will continue to be loved and remembered by his loved ones.

From his wife, Katherine: To my best friend and lover, thank you for all the joy you have brought to our lives. I will love you always and forever and until we meet again.

No memorial services will be held at this time, but we ask you to please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
