William Victor Vargas

We are honored to take a moment and tell you about William Victor Vargas Jr., also known as Poppie to his family. Bill's life began in 1957 in Osaka, Japan when he was born to William and Pierette Vargas Sr. His was a life that should be celebrated and remembered as one filled with the love he had for his entire family. His wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings loved him beyond measure.

He was a dedicated father who enjoyed coaching and being involved in his children's sports. He was always their loudest and biggest fan who encouraged them to be their best.

One of the fondest memories of Bill most people will have is of his amazing food. Poppie's cooking was anticipated by all who had the honor of being invited to dinner, which was anyone who wanted to come. He was a wonderful host and generous chef who could amuse you with his vast knowledge of many different subjects while you were savoring his elaborate meals. He always had a dad joke to make you roll your eyes, a story to make you laugh and his knowledge of the things he enjoyed was extensive. He had an enthusiasm for the things he loved, and he touched everyone he met. He would always take the time to learn about your passion so he could talk to you about it making you feel important, like you were the only person in the room with him.

He recently took up a new hobby of fly-fishing and enjoyed many hours of tying flies, fishing new rivers, and boating with his loving wife, Debra. In his retirement they also enjoyed many afternoons playing cards, swimming and enjoying the little things in life.
