Tom "Speedy" Trujillo, age 75, beloved husband, father, and grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on Monday, February 15, 2021. He entered this world on September 25, 1945 in Gallup, NM, born to Prudencio and Victoriana Trujillo. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Percy Trujillo; daughter, Vickipauline Trujillo (Mark Herrera); son, Tom Harold (Sasha Trujillo); and his four granddaughters, Victoria Trujillo (Isaiah Stone), Oceana Trujillo, Yvaine Trujillo, Marqui Herrera; and sister, Pilar Baca (Richard Baca). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, and friends.
Speedy graduated from Cathedral High School in Gallup in 1964. There, he was a member of the National Honor Society.
Speedy worked at City of Gallup, Carbon Coal, Galanis Trading Company, Giant Refinery, and County Government. He did bookkeeping work and taxes. He was now retired. He was a past member of the Gallup Lions Club, former board member of Mid-West CAP, and Gallup Community Service Center. He served on the Pastoral Council for St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church.
Speedy was one of a kind. He loved helping others with anything and everything. He was the best handy man and always had a new project up his sleeve. He loved traveling, playing baseball, riding his motorcycle, cheering for his New Orleans Saints, doing taxes, but most of all, spending time with his wife, and family. He was kindhearted and loved by all. He always had a story to tell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Prudencio and Victoriana; brothers, Prudencio, Arthur, and Sam Trujillo; sisters, Rachel, Lorraine Garcia, Theresa, and Eleanor Malone.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph’s Drive NW Albuquerque.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions there will be no reception. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
