He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 27, 1931 and lived and worked on the family farm (Abeyta Orchard) for his childhood years.

Severiano served in the Navy in San Diego where he met his wife, Dolly.  He then returned to Albuquerque and served as a fireman at Kirkland Air Force Base.  In 1972 he started working with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he retired after 41 years of service.  One of his many other jobs was as a Real Estate agent and during all of this he found the time to earn his bachelor's in International Business from the University of New Mexico.

He was a passionate outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and camp where many great memories and family stories will be told for years and generations to come.  For any gathering it was well known that Seve and Dolly would be dancing all night, first on the dance floor and last to leave the dance floor.  Also, when the opportunity would arise you would see them leading a Wedding Marcha.  He loved the Casino and Crap tables where there were many trips to Las Vegas and the local Indian Casinos.

As a family man, Severiano took great pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather.  He loved to give lessons and advice.  He could be both tough and serious as well as fun loving with his stories, lessons, and advice.
