Ruth M Ramos

May 23, 1933 — April 14, 2021

Age 87, beloved wife, mother, and “Grammy” passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. She was born Tuesday, May 23, 1933, in Roswell, New Mexico, to parents Eduardo and Urbana (Juarez) Melendez. Ruth graduated from Roswell High School and attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Julio of 54 years, in 2014. She is survived by her five children, Lina, Yolanda and husband, Raymond, Carlos and wife, Lori, Sonia and husband, David, and Teresa; stepson, Julio; ten grandchildren, whom she loved very much, Annarosa, Tobías and fiancé, Ashley, Carlos II, Andrés and wife, Shelby, Leah and husband, Gizeh, Cristabel and husband, Paul, Nikolás, Raymond II, Brandon and Sophia; two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Emmitt; her sister, Grace Jaramillo; brothers, Eddie Melendez and wife, Connie, and Manuel Melendez; and many loving nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Eduardo and Urbana; brothers, Ismael, Lionel, Moises, Job, and Fil and wife, Ena; parents-in-law, Cirilo and Lina Ramos; brothers-in-law, Fernando and Juan; and sisters-in-law, Emelina, Isabel and Teresa.

Ruth retired from the Federal government in 1990 after 33 years of civil service employment at Walker, Ellsworth, and Kirtland Air Force Bases. Ruth served as church pianist, choir member, and representative to Cuban refugee missions.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 10:00 a.m., at First Bilingual Baptist Church, 812 Fruit Avenue NW. To view livestream of services please go to https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAZwHFDPDzin99CEVN3pTsw .
