Robert Rehder

Robert Richard Rehder was 82 years old when he quietly passed away on Sunday, December 02, 2012. His family and friends had a chance to visit him and share some quality moments with this wonderful man. Dr. Rehder, a graduate of Stanford University, first visited Albuquerque on a Route 66 road trip in 1955. The desert southwest won a place in his great big heart and he returned with his family in 1969. After completing his hillside home, he helped found the Robert O. Anderson School of Management, to which he was Dean from 1969 to 1979. He continued as a full professor at the School of Management until his retirement in 2001. Bob will be fondly remembered for his intelligence, wit, compassion and a wry sense of humor. He is survived by his son, Mark Rehder and his beloved partner, Irene Thurston and their families. Thanks Bob, we were blessed to share our time with you. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012, 10:30 a.m., at the UNM Alumni Memorial Chapel.
