Robert Joseph Dinkel

Robert Dinkel, age 52, of Rio Rancho, NM, loving father, son and brother went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

Robert was born Friday, May 5, 1967 in Greeley, CO into a loving family.

Robert was an accomplished carpenter specializing in drywall and painting. He worked for many years in the Albuquerque and Rio Rancho area. Robert had a huge heart, free spirit and loved to make people laugh. He helped all who were in need and never new a stranger. Robert loved life, his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his daughters, Kirstie Dinkel and Shauncie Dinkel; son, Derek Dinkel all of Franklyn, NH; stepchildren, Austin Mattia of TX, Josh Mattia of Rio Rancho, NM and Brianna Mattia of Rio Rancho, NM; mother, Joan Dinkel of Rio Rancho, NM; and father, Harold Dinkel of Moriarty, NM; brother, James Dinkel and wife, Robin of White Rock, NM, Gary Dinkel of Las Lunas, NM, Doug Dinkel of Rio Rancho, NM, David Dinkel and wife, Jana of MN, and Dan Dinkel of Rio Rancho, NM; sisters, Lori Baca and husband, Nick of Grants, NM, Joanie Prairie and husband, Arthur of Rio Rancho, NM, and Jeanie Dinkel and fiancé, Gary Mathews of Rio Rancho, NM; longtime friends, Greg Eder and Jessy Gonzales of Rio Rancho, NM.

He also leaves behind many cherished uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. Robert was preceded in death by his loving sister-in-law, Cyndi Dinkel; fraternal grandparents, Nicholas and Regina Dinkel; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Elizabeth Lamb.

A Rosary will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019, 10:00 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, a Reception to follow Mass at Church Parish Hall.
