Peggy (Maes) Wright

Former New Mexico resident Peggy M. Wright 96, died Apeil 28, 2023 at her home in Albuquerque, NM.

Peggy was born Saturday, November 20, 1926 in Las Vegas NM to Manuel D. and Margarita Maes. She was one of 18 siblings growing up on the Maes cattle ranch outside Las Vegas. She met Calvin C. Wright Jr. in the late 1940's when they fell in love, married, and soon had a child, Cynthia Joanne in 1952 followed by Randall Calvin in 1954 and finally Stuart Michael in late 1959.
Peggy took charge of raising 3 young children while Calvin went out and earned their family a living. She was a terrific mother and caretaker, not only for her children but for her aging sisters and brothers along the way. Peggy was loved and cherished by her many friends and people she would meet along her path and generally a fun loving, funny, bright, witty to say the least, compassionate and all in all a VERY GOOD HUMAN BEING.
As in all of us Peggy had her share of heartbreaks, (her daughter, Cindy would pass at 13 years old, her mother and her favorite big sister Katy would both pass within the year of 1966), and the loss of her soulmate and husband Calvin would once again prove her inner strength to continue on to fight the good fight and demonstrate her mettle.
Peggy is sorely missed by her relatives and friends alike and is survived by her 2 sons, Randy 68, and Mikey, 63 and by her only grandchild Marisa, 31. Peg, please don't give St. Peter a hard time, it wasn't his choice!
