Nelson Lee Craig

November 2, 1933 — March 16, 2020

Nelson Craig, 86, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on March 16, 2020. He entered this world on November 2, 1933, in Belen, NM, born to Orville and Ruth Craig. He is survived by Patsy Craig, the love of his life for 68 years; children Cami Klein and husband Terry, Lance Craig and wife Janet, Lori Craig; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ron Craig and wife Lorraine.

Nelson was a graduate of Highland High School, Class of 1951. He went to work for John Yearout, owner of Yearout Electric, in 1951, marrying his High School sweetheart, Patsy Yearout, in 1952.

In 1962 Nelson and Patsy started Craig Electric, Inc. which they owned and operated for twenty-nine years. Nelson was devoted to the electrical trade and to mentoring those showing an interest in it. He served on the Central New Mexico Electrical Contractors Association Board of Directors from 1962 to 1986, and the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee from 1963 to 1986.

Nelson loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at El Vado Lake- hunting, fishing, and boating with family and friends.

The legacy that Nelson's family would like to continue in his honor would be that of love, kindness, generosity, hard work, and being a mentor to others. He will be remembered with love and dearly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family, cancer.org/involved/donate/memorial-giving.html or via mail PO Box 3208,  ABQ, NM 87190-3208
