Mary (Kohlmeyer) Tauer

Mary Kohlmeyer Tauer, age 79, was born in Blue Earth, MN, on January 20, 1942, to Bertha and Oliver Kohlmeyer. She has a sister, Jean Witter who lives in Edina, MN. Mary graduated from Blue Earth High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.

She entered the US Public Health Service as a hospital nurse in Browning, MT, then changed her focus to Public Health nursing. While serving as a PHN in Belcourt, ND, she met and eventually married James Tauer, a pharmacist in the US Public Health Service. The two of them worked with the Indian Health Service on reservations in ND, MT, SD, and NM until Jim's retirement in 1996. They then moved to Rio Rancho. They had no children.

Mary is a member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. Interment is planned to take place in a family plot in Blue Earth.
