Mary (Fairchild) Clark

Mary Fairchild Clark, 91, beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on Friday, April 5, 2019. She entered this world on Monday, December 19, 1927, in Holloway, MN, born to George and Rubina Fairchild. She graduated from Appleton High School in Minnesota and enlisted into the Nursing Corps. Earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Metro State in Denver Colorado and received an American Nursing Association Certification in Nursing Administration. She served both the Navajo Nation and several New Mexico Tribes with the Public Health Service, and Indian Health Services for over 38 years. She dedicated her life to improving the quality and access to health care for Native Americans. She was awarded the U.S. Public Health Service Superior Service Award and numerous other awards for Loyal Dedicated Service to the Indian Health Service. After retiring from the Public Health Service she continued her Nursing career at McKinley County Nursing Home and the Laguna Rainbow Nursing Home until she resigned at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Richard Charles Clark; brothers, Neil Fairchild, Thomas Fairchild, Stanley Fairchild; step-son, Wayne Clark; step-daughter, Patricia Ferrari; granddaughter, Anne Marie Ferrari. She is survived by her sisters, Harriet Oien, Virginia Day, Barbara Strope; brother, Don Fairchild, daughter, Lisa Allard and husband Darin; daughters, Maria Clark and son-in-law Darrell Rickert, Theresa Hall and husband Dennis Hall, Barbara Fishgrab; son-in-law Craig Koeningsfeld; stepdaughter, Margaret Ann Price; stepson, Donald Clark and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Sydney Allard, Madison Allard, Jordan Allard, Logan Allard, Austin Clark, Aaron Clark, Ryan Rickert, Christopher Koenigsfeld and wife Rachael, Loretta Koenigsfeld, Jeri Lee Trujeque, Dale Fishgrab and wife Jeanine, Lynn Clark, Richard Clark, Toni Ferrari; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Clark, Josh Trujeque, Cody Trujeque, Natalia Fishgrab, Tatiano Fishgrab, Dale Fishgrab, Jezebel Fishgrab, Kyle Koenigsfeld, Conner Koenigsfeld; great-great-grandchild Xander Clark; plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews to whom she holds a special place in her heart. In celebrating Mary's life, events will begin on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 Visitation and light refreshments will start at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH- University. The Catholic Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Pl SE. Burial will follow the Mass to Sunset Memorial Park where we will say our final good byes.
