Lucille (Brown) Roberts

April 29, 1930 — February 23, 2021

Lucille Brown Roberts

Lucille Brown Roberts was called to her Heavenly home on February 23, 2021. Lucille was born in a farmhouse in Western Kansas on April 29th, 1930.  She was one of seven siblings; James, Alvin, Leatha, Everette, Arlene, and Dorothy all born to Mabel and Earl Brown.

At the age of 17, her family moved to Albuquerque to allow her the opportunity to receive treatment for tuberculosis.

It was here she met the love of her life, George Roberts. Together, they shared a beautiful marriage that was centered by their deep and abiding love and faith for Jesus Christ and each other. She and George were active members of Grace Church and she loved planning events for Senior Saints once a month, where her table décor was remarked upon. George and Lucille celebrated 69 years of marriage in October 2020.

Lucille was a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandma, and Aunt, spending most of life nurturing and caring for her family.  Her interests included gardening, poetry, crafts, cake decorating, sewing, cooking, and painting.

She saw God's beauty in everything around her and was inspired by it.  She was named Poet of the Year in 1995 by The International Society of Poets for her poems, "Moments" and "my Garden of Weedin".

An excerpt from Moments:
"Moments that are unique to me-dwindle away
defining moments that are here to stay.
If we could forward a few words from our heart cherish every moment from the start."

Lucille lovingly shared and supported others with her skills and gifts including her husband George; daughters Tracee and Kelly; grandchildren Jared, Amber, and Tyler; great grandchildren Kassidee, Kamden, and Kolten; brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews.

Lucille prayed continuously and would want everyone to remember how much she loved Jesus. She is now joyously celebrating with Jesus and other family and friends who passed before her for all of Eternity.

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."  Psalm 23:6
