USAF Lt. Col. (retired) Robert (Bob) Wood, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023, in his home in Albuquerque. He was born August 9, 1929 in Wheaton, Illinois. After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1951, he joined the USAF where he met Phyllis (deceased), and Air Force nurse, and his wife of 38 years. He was stationed in six US locations, Greenland, and Germany. His last assignment was Kirtland AFB, where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1980. He spent his next 10 years working for Sandia National Laboratories Procurement Team. Bob later resided in Ruidoso and Tucson enjoying golf and cards with his friends. He married his second wife, Sue (deceased). After moving to Albuquerque in 2017, he joined the Duke City Bridge Club-which became one of his many passions. Bob's other hobbies included golf, gardening, cards, and his daily glass of wine.
Bob leaves behind his daughter, Susan (Al) and their two children, Ryan (Austin) and Tiffany (Sam); and his son, Craig (Donna) and their two children, Tyler and Amber. He also has four great-grandsons, Colton, Bryson, Caledon, and Remington.
