With profound sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Lawrence Marcus James Valadez, who entered eternal rest on July 2, 2026, at the age of 15.

Born on June 30, 2011, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lawrence lived a life filled with love, laughter, courage, and unforgettable memories. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made on everyone who knew him will last forever.

Lawrence was the definition of strength. Through every challenge he faced, he showed incredible bravery, resilience, and determination that inspired everyone around him. He never let his circumstances define him. Instead, he continued to smile, joke, and remind those around him what true courage looked like. He was a true sports fanatic and proudly cheered on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, through every season. Whether watching sports, playing video games, or spending time with family, Lawrence brought excitement and energy wherever he went. He loved watching his Ghost Hunter videos. He loved listening to Bruno Mars and Michael Jackson, and their music could always brighten his day.

Lawrence had a hilarious sense of humor and a sarcastic wit that kept everyone laughing. He knew exactly how to make people smile, and his playful personality was one of the many things people loved most about him. He was a wonderful son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend whose heart was as big as his smile. If you knew Lawrence, you knew two things were almost always close by-his mama's homemade enchiladas were his favorite meal, and he never went anywhere without his beloved hot chips.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lawrence Valadez, John Shock and George Gaxiola; his grandmothers, Grace Waldorf, Mary Helen Hernandez, and Helen Shock; Grace's partner, George Waldorf; Mary Helen's partner, Jesus Hernandez; and his uncle, Emil Crisan and cousin Emil Crisan Jr.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving mother, Chantel Shock, and her partner, Demetrius Swink; his father, Acen Valadez, and his partner, Angelique Trujillo; his grandparents, Athena and Mark Martinez, Diane Lovato, Vera Herrera and Gilbert Herrera, and Randy Shock; and his beloved siblings, Evangel-Lynn, Juliana, Kylette, Emiliana, Iyana, Catalina, Savannah, Jamari, Zayla, and Zayden. He is also survived by his uncle, Andrew Shock and partner Jazmine Shock, and their children Maxton, Adalynn, Phoenix, Aubriana, Jaden, Nathan, and Danielle; his Uncle Christopher Shock and daughter Elena; his Auntie Brandy Shock and her children Amari, Prynce Na'sir; his Auntie Shyann and Ricky Phan and their children Li and Jayd; his uncle Larry Valadez and partner Cyndi Otero, and children Heaven-Lee, Delilah, Gabriela, Monett, Mosess, and Larry Jr.; his Aunt Nicole Valadez and partner Marvin Trujillo, and their children Grace, Romeo, Julius, and Juliette; his Aunt Leona Valadez and her son Kanye; cousins Aisha, Gypsy, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and countless friends who loved him deeply.

While our hearts are shattered by this loss, we find comfort knowing Lawrence is now free from pain and at peace. His laughter, strength, courage, and love will forever live on in each of us. He taught us to appreciate every moment, to love fiercely, and to never give up.

Forever 15. Forever loved. Forever our hero. Until we meet again, Lawrence, we will carry you in our hearts every single day.
