Kari Lynn Steele

Our dear Kari passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 6, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born June 15, 1976, in Illinois but spent her childhood through adulthood in Albuquerque with some time spent in Albany, NY.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Steele and her nephew, Avery Mason. She leaves behind her mother, Marilyn Harper; sister, Kyla Mason, husband Christopher and their three sons, Jeffery, Zachery and Spencer. Her many extended family members in Illinois will miss her greatly as well as her friends in New Mexico, Albany, NY and beyond. Her family and friends were loved and dear to Kari.

She was a free spirit who was beautiful inside and out and loved life to the fullest. She loved animals, especially her dogs, Rose and Nancy as well as a variety of cats she rescued along the way. They were all special, loved and cared for by Kari.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please consider making a donation to Animal Humane New Mexico or to any other animal rescue group in Kari’s name. We have fond, fun memories of Kari. She will be missed but not forgotten.
