Juanita (Ortiz) Caldwell

August 18, 1941 — June 30, 2020

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Juanita Caldwell announces her passing into the Loving arms of God in Heaven above, while being held and comforted in the arms of her family.  Beautiful, precious, loving, and beloved, Juanita, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, in Albuquerque, NM, where caring and competent medical professionals worked tirelessly to assist her during her most difficult of days.

Juanita was born August 18, 1941, in the rural area of French Tract, near Springer, NM.  Throughout her life, she was many things to many people.  Above all, she was a very humble human being with a heart that will remain unmatched.  She dedicated her entire being to caring for her family, and as she said often, “My family is the Wind Beneath My Wings.”  There could not have been a better partner, companion, and wife, nor could her children have ever had any better mother.  She was the glue that held the family together, was most giving and never asked for anything for herself.   She also held each accountable in all ways loving, ethical, and moral.  Even though her physical self is no longer with us, she will remain in our lives and hearts for eternity.

The family wishes to thank the many healthcare professionals who assisted her, to include those at Miner’s Colfax Medical Center in Raton, NM, Raton E.M.T.’s, Life Flight Air personnel, Lovelace Hospital ICU, and Long-Term Acute Care Kindred Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.

Arrangements are being handled and coordinated by FRENCH – Westside. Thank you to FRENCH Funerals and Cremations, President and CEO, Mr. Tom Antram, and Mr. Glenn Zachry, Managing Director.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020, 10:00 a.m. in Springer, NM.  There will be no public viewing or reception.  Given the fact Juanita donated to many charities throughout her beautiful and giving life, please feel free to donate to the charity of your choice in her name.

Even though it is a time of comfort and expression of grief and celebration, the family must ask that masks are worn, and social distancing is practiced protecting all.  Thank you.
