April 21, 1978 — October 5, 2018

Joseph John Antle, age 40, passed on to a better place on October 5, 2018. He was born on April 21, 1978 in Gallup,NM. He and his younger sister Julie were cared for by their beloved parents, David and Emily (Amy) Antle since September,1980 and were adopted in December, 1982. Joe is survived by David and Amy,sister Julie and her husband Raul Uribe, cherished niece Aleena Rose, Grandmother Claire Antle, Uncle Keith and Aunt Susan Antle, Uncle Paul and Aunt Ellen Barrosse-Antle and  cousins, Alissa, Kristen, Meredith and Lauren Antle, Cousins Laura, Mary Ellen and Sarah Barrosse-Antle and Dine' Cousins Marci and Peterson Sam and their family, including Aaron, PJ, and Ashlynn, in addition to his many friends. Joe was preceded in death by his grandfather Carl Antle, his Uncle Phillip Antle, and grandparents Bill and Josephine ( Grandma Jay) Sabol. Joe was kind, friendly, generous, funny and at times impulsive. He accepted people as they were, without judgement. He worked mostly as a cook, made delicious fry bread and loved to see people enjoy his food. A lifelong dedicated Pittsburgh Steelers fan, like his Dad, he wore Steelers gear proudly. He loved to play video games, to learn about WWII, to make creative items from canvas and yarn, and to watch action, horror and comedy movies. Joe and his chihuahua, Kokopelli (aka Pelli) were best friends. Very proud of his Navajo Heritage, Joe embraced Native ways, music, and friends and was a strong supporter of Native American causes. Our free spirit endured many challenges in life. He and his smile will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held  at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church (610 Montano Road NW Albuquerque,NM) on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
