Jordon Vaughan

February 10, 1999 — May 16, 2020

Jordon James Vaughan born February 10, 1999 passed away at the age of 21. He was a bright light and an inspiration to everyone that he met.  He fought a disease called Neurofibromatosis II for 16 years, is a rare condition that causes the body to manufacture tumors.  Though they are benign they still impacted his nervous system from his brain, ears and down his spine it wreaked havoc on his body and he just could not fight any longer.  We understood this and accepted his decision to not fight any longer.  Jordon passed peacefully in his sleep on the evening of May 16, 2020.

Jordon loved Lobo Basketball and the team supported him and encouraged him, even though they say it was the other way around.  Jordon loved the color red, probably due to UNM.  He loved fast cars and especially muscle cars, he was a Dodge fanatic and lived the motto “Give Me Fuel, Give Me Fire, Give Me Just What I Desire”.

Jordon had a heart of gold and gave encouragement to everyone he met, even though he had his own struggles, and that is what made him the person that he was.  He would rather encourage others than dwell in his problems.  He is soaring with the eagles now and lives with no pain.  We love him and will miss him but we know he is pain free and at peace.

Private services will be held by family invitation only.

In lieu of flowers please donate in his name to the Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico http://www.ccfnm.org/.
