Jerome Steven Goldfeder

March 30, 1941 — April 21, 2023

Jerry lived a full and growing life and was dearly loved. When Jerry was on your side his loyalty, passion and creativity were truly a gift. There was little he wouldn't do for a good friend or family member. Jerry passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 10:45 a.m.in the mountain home that he built.

Jerry was born in Bergenfield New Jersey on March 30,1941 to Murray and Sylvia Goldfeder, who were first generation immigrants to the US; they were Ashkenazi Jews from Warsaw practicing in the Jewish Conservative tradition. As a boy Jerry overcame antisemitism in his community, a feat that would continue to inform his strength. As a young man, Jerry graduated from Bergenfield High School and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University for some time until he realized that he needed to travel around the world. During Jerry's early travels he spent time in India and Spain. He lived on the beautiful Spanish island of Formentera with five like-minded folks whose mutual intention was soul searching and expansion. The feeling and memories of the beautiful days spent on that island remained a lifelong inspiration.

In 1969 Jerry met Pamela Elizabeth Franks in Sausalito California. The two of them traveled the US in search of a home, eventually settling in the Manzano mountains of New Mexico where they planned the births of their two lovely children, Tania and Jake.

In 1979 Jerry met and fell in love With Rasma Kirkums. The two married and became life partners with a loving, living and growing relationship lasting 45 years. During their time together they worked hard and played hard; from successful careers, parenting children, and eventually traveling the world, the two were well-matched. Their travels included many exotic destinations like Alaska, Mexico, Italy, Latvia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Egypt, Morocco, the Amazon, and more fun beachy destinations. Their spirit of adventure was insatiable as they explored and traveled together.

In his career, Jerry was an accomplished businessman working in multiple creative fields including firewood, landscaping, and jewelry making. He was always successful in his business ventures.

Jerry was a leader in his community, as he spent many evenings attending and leading Al-Anon meetings, where he found healing and strength in getting to know and support others.

A lifelong fan of the Dodgers - from Brooklyn to LA - he was ecstatic to have seen them win seven World Series, most recently in 2020!

Jerry is survived by his wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. His spirit of love and passion will continue to survive in everyone he touched. He is deeply missed on this earthly plane. Jerry loved life more than anyone else we know.
