“With a deep sense of loss, the children of Jeanne Rosetta Johnson announce her passing from this earth to heaven and into the arms of her beloved Savior Jesus Christ.  She is survived by her by her son Jonathan Purse, daughters Nina Purse and Miranda Johnson, her sister Carolyn Moses and her family along with her nieces and nephews including Yoni and Sofia, Devorah and her family, Joshua and his family, Sarah & Tom, Shirah & Mark.

Jeanne was born in Manhattan, New York  on June 27th 1957 to Eula Mae Baughan and Vernon Lee Baughan.  She lost her half brother David Baughan in her early twenties.

She married Doniver Purse a talented musician, at age 18.  Jeanne herself was very talented and played the piano, had a beautiful voice, acted in plays, loved to sing and would perform “It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye to Yesterday” at funerals.   Doniver and Jeanne had 2 children, Jonathan and Nina.  Doniver Purse passed away when she was 22.  She later went on to marry Jose Guevarra.  In 1989 Jeanne, Jonathan and Nina Moved to Hawaii.  Jeanne loved living in Hawaii due to its island charm, warm tropical weather, palm trees and beautiful beaches.  She loved to wear fresh lei’s around her neck whenever possible.  She proudly worked for the Honolulu Police Department while living in Hawaii.  Jeanne later married Eric Johnson, who she knew from her childhood and moved to California, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington, then back to New Mexico to raise her youngest daughter Miranda.  At the time of her passing, Jeanne was a highly regarded employee with the New Mexico State Police and worked in Communications.

Jeanne spent time modeling as a young adult but also dabbled in entrepreneurship.  During her lifetime she launched her own in-home spa, created lovely gift baskets and wanted to pursue a career in life coaching.  She loved animals and provided a loving home to many wonderful pets over the years.  Jeanne was a collector of beautiful things and loved to shop.  Her home is full of lovely treasures and artifacts that brought her joy in some way shape or form.  She loved to dress up in fashionable garments and accessorize with beautiful scarves and jewelry.  Jeanne dreamed of one day visiting Paris because she was enamored by Parisian culture and has figurines of the Eiffel Tower adorning her home.

A peaceful, warm, gentle and sweet woman, Jeanne had a wonderful sense of humor.  She loved to laugh and had an infectious smile.  She is remembered and will be missed by her friends, family members and colleagues.  The light she shined on our lives and those who knew her well will forever burn brightly to remind us how much we loved her and how precious she was.”
