Jacklyn Hope (Tapia) Serrano

Jacklyn Hope Tapia Serrano departed this life to join Our Savior on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Jackie was the loving mother of the joy of her life, Lucas Serrano, the beautiful daughter of her mother, Alicia Maria Tapia, and her father, George Anthony Tapia who preceded her in death. She was also survived by her siblings, Wayne Tapia and partner Dean Sierra, sister Dianna Tapia-Castillo and husband Ruben, brother Michael Tapia, and sister, De'Anna Tapia-Lovato, nieces Christina, Mariah, Audra and Amanda, and nephews Tim and Tony as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her maternal grandparents, Juan and Elvira Silva, and paternal grandparents, Jose and Valeria Tapia also preceded her in death. Jackie was also survived by Jose Serrano, her high school sweetheart and father of their son.

While Jackie loved spending time in Santa Rosa, New Mexico where she visited grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, she grew up in Albuquerque where she had many friends. Those who knew her were blessed by her friendship. Jackie's smile would light up a room. Her laughter was infectious. She had an adventurous spirit and loved traveling to new places, camping and the warm New Mexico sun. Jackie loved all things baseball and like a good Yankees fan, she didn't care much for the Red Sox. Salem and Bronx, her two cats, would say she loved animals too. They brought her much comfort and joy.

To her family, she was and will always be 'Dolly'. While her interests and passions were many, her one true joy was her son, Lucas. The bond between the two was undeniable. When she saw him and he saw her, the world was always right. Memories of Jackie will always include her wrapping her arms around him-forever the protector.

If you see a flower blooming, a butterfly flying, or a beautiful, warm, clear New Mexico sky, please think of her. She's saying 'hi'.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, from 9:00 a.m.- 10:30 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 11:00 a.m. which will be live streamed below.
