Holger Christof Benkert, age 59, of Albuquerque, NM. Was called to his eternal resting place with Our Heavenly Father on Christmas Eve. Holger was born on Tuesday, May 2, 1961, in Marktheidenfeld, Germany to Robert and Kathe Benkert. Holger was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Kathe, and his sister, Christine Benkert. Holger married Chonita Benkert on Saturday, December 27, 2003.
Holger was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Chonita Benkert; son, Mathias Benkert; son and daughter-in-law, John and Deanna Watrin; daughter and son-in-law, Benay and Brandon Held; daughter and son-in-law, Emmeral and Jonathan Waldo; grandchildren, Anuhea, Johnny, Jaxon, Kaison, Lucas, Warren, and Cameron; godson, Jesse Montalvo; Special Friends, Pat and Jill Montalvo, Michael and Lynn Plante, Jessica and Brenda Holger served in the US Army from 1979 to 1989.
Holger (Rooster) was a true motorcycle enthusiast he loved to ride daily and go on long bike runs with friends and family. Holger was a true adventurer, he loved to travel the world. Holger hiked the Appalachian Trails with his beloved dog, Fritz. He loved cars, boats, reading, researching, and sharing stories of his adventures with family and friends. Holger was our Hero and will be missed dearly.

A Rosary will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021, 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW Albuquerque, NM 87114. Veterans Military Honors will be at 11:00 a.m.
Holger Benkert (Rooster), Last ride home will be handled by Pat Montalvo in route from St. Jude Thaddeus Church.
