Georgie Ray Gurule

May 13, 1995 — February 26, 2020

Georgie Ray Gurule beloved son, family member and friend to all, was called to his eternal resting place on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at the age of 24. He entered this world on Saturday, May 13, 1995, in Albuquerque, NM, born to Sharon Kerlin and Raymond Gurule. He was a student at Central New Mexico Community College studying Communications. His goal was to one day be a Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner so that he could help people overcome obstacles related to mental and physical well-being. He was an avid reader and enjoyed learning about language, thought patterns, and behaviors. He believed the way we used language was tremendously important. He would often say, “You can change a person’s whole day with just two words.” He was passionate about his studies and would never miss a chance at practicing his techniques on willing participants. He was always excited for people’s accomplishments and successes and was never afraid to show his happiness for anyone.

Georgie Ray was full of energy and loved sports. He played baseball, football, and basketball on various teams throughout the years. He had a natural athletic ability. He also loved music and often wrote poetry and songs that he performed voluntarily at multiple events. He had a gift for speaking and inspiring people with his words. He was never afraid to show or tell people how special they were. He was known for his gregarious laugh that carried for miles which was infectious and sometimes startling. He always said, “See you later, never good-bye!” He always saw potential in every person he met and was sure to leave a lasting impression with his uplifting spirit. Just his laugh alone was enough to change the mood of an entire room. He was a unique individual who touched many lives.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon Kerlin; step-father, Christopher Kerlin; sister, Sherri Gurule; brother, Jonah Gurule; brother and best friend, Andre Gonzales; step-sister, Danielle Kerlin; step-brothers, Christopher Kerlin Jr. and Stephan Kerlin; grandmother, Christina Lopez; auntie, Marissa Ledesma; uncle, Nick Ledesma, and uncle, Arthur Padilla; aunt, Roxanne Padilla; and cousins, Jazlynn Luna-Aguilar and Quissa Ledesma, as well as many other family and friends who cared for him deeply.

He is welcomed home to his eternal resting place by his father, Raymond Gurule; grandmother, Patricia Ann Pargas; grandfather, Raymond Gurule Sr.; great grandmother, Nena Jaramillo; uncle, Georgie Ray Garcia; grandfather, Robert M. Padilla; and uncle, Bobby Padilla as well as many other angels, sure to have had a beautiful welcoming for him.
