Ernest "Ernie" Ashcraft

April 25, 1930 — May 24, 2022

Ernest (Ernie) Ashcraft was born on April 25, 1930 in Ford, Kentucky. He went home on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Ernie is survived by his sons William and John, daughter-in-law Vickie and Deena, son-in-law Richard Ferrel, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, sister Lois Philby, many nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Jean Ashcraft. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy Ashcraft (Sandusky), daughter Nancy Ferrel, brother Clarence Ashcraft, and parents Kenneth and Della Ashcraft (Greer). Ernie was 92 years old and spent 84 of those years in the Albuquerque area. He was a 1948 graduate of Albuquerque High School, married his beloved wife Dorothy in 1951, started his family, and was a member of the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1953. Following his discharge from the Air Force he worked in the family businesses, giving all that he could to his work in building and developing Albuquerque and providing for his wife, their children, and their grandchildren. Ernie and Dorothy had many adventures together from moving into homes he built, to traveling the United States. After he stopped working and they stopped traveling, Ernie's favorite activity was his morning coffee shop visits with his friends. Ernie was a jovial, hardworking man and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
