Erlinda Baca

Erlinda Baca, age 90, beloved wife, mother and grandmother went to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 13, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and her son, Gilbert. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marcella and Joseph Ashe, Frank and Laurice Baca, Sylvia Ware, Anita and Jerry Gallegos, Charlotte and Albert Teupell, Michael and Lorraine Baca. She has 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Erlinda left her family and friends with a legacy of perseverance. She was a woman of God, humble, loving, forgiving, a testimony to everyone that met her. She prayed daily and always thought of others better than herself.

Diagnosed with Parkinson and being legally blind never stopped her from doing the things she loved. Despite these ailments she lived independently for 16 years finding her way through life with her faith not sight. When she could no longer drive, she walked to the senior center where she volunteered her time and often sold coffee and learned to count coins by touch. Crochet, doll making, Swedish weaving, and dancing were part of her talents and passion. Parkinson and limited sight said Erlinda couldn't do it, but every finished blanket, project and journey said she could.

Erlinda's legacy will live on through her friends and family. Today she is with Our Lord and after many years of only being able to feel her crochet stitch she can once again see her beautiful work and walk without assistance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, 9:00 a.m.,   at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW followed by the Burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
