Earl Ray Dowler

October 30, 1941 — January 3, 2020

Earl Ray Dowler, (Butch) was born on Thursday, October 30, 1941 in Casper Wyoming to Lester and Lola Dowler.   After graduating Natrona County High School in 1960, Butch briefly attended the University of Wyoming before joining the National Guard in 1961.

Butch moved to Houston, Texas and sold real estate for a time.  Butch later moved to Texas City, Texas and worked for Aamco Chemical and served on the Board of Directors with Aamco Federal Credit Union.  in 1984, Butch moved to Albuquerque, NM with Sun Oil Company.   Butch returned to college and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico, receiving a BS in Eastern European Studies and an MBA in Computer Science.  Butch became a History teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools and was beloved by his students.  Butch had a passion for fly fishing and, after retiring, spent time as a fly-fishing guide in Lake City, CO

Butch was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan.  Butch is survived by two sons, Tim and Derrick and their wives, Mary Ann and Michelle, his brother Tom and wife Melanie, his 4 grandchildren, Luke, Jacy, Dominick and Carissa, and nieces, Gretchen, Erin and Amanda.
