Doyle Ray Wise

Doyle Ray Wise passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019. He was born October 26, 1936 in Casa Grande, AZ, the son of Carl Hessie Wise and Elva Myrtle Wise (nee Sanders), brother of the late Kamella “Guy” Fine, Walter “Pete” Wise, Mary Pitcher, Flora Doster, Jim Wise, Jane West, and a late infant sister. Doyle was the husband of Elizabeth Wise and Diane Meyer Wise. He was the father of the late Heidi Wise, Erin Nauta, Leslie Wise and the late Patricia Wise, grandfather of Ian McDonald, Lauren McDonald, Kaelin McDonald, and Erin McDonald, and great- grandfather of Connor and Oliver. His later years were spent happily with his partner, Marion Braddick.

Doyle graduated from Casa Grande High School in 1954 and achieved his Bachelor of Science degree at New Mexico State University in 1959. While in college, he worked in the co-op program as a missile tracker/laboratory technician at White Sands Missile Range. Upon graduation, Doyle joined Monsanto as a Chemical Engineer at their Texas City, Texas plant, in the company’s heyday as a petrochemical and plastics manufacturer, where he became co-author of a U.S. Patent for densification of polyolefins. Doyle rose through several supervisory, management and executive positions, eventually joining Sterling Chemical at the time of its spinoff from Monsanto, remaining in the petrochemical business as Monsanto shifted focus into agricultural products.

When Doyle retired, he and Diane relocated to Placitas, NM, where they remained until her death in 2013. He and partner Marion Braddick settled in Rio Rancho in 2014.

Doyle and Diane combined their interests in native flowers and bird watching and traveled extensively in the United States and abroad. In retirement, Doyle was an avid hiker and was a long-time member of a local hiking group. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Westside.
