Dora Rocha

Dora Rocha, age 73, our family's rock, loving mother, grandmother, and mother figure to many, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021.

She was born in Del Rio, Texas, April 6, 1948, and lived there until she met the love of her life, Rafael Rocha. Together they attended Sul Ross State University and received their bachelor's degree in Sociology and ended up residing in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Dora was a loved child-caretaker and remembered for her loving ways, big smile, and cheerful personality. She loved listening and singing along to her favorite music, Tejano. She loved the holidays and volunteering at her local senior centers and voting polls.

She is survived by her children; Zenia and Devin Cable, son, Zaul Rocha, and daughter, Zebrina and Jesse Young, and three grandchildren, Alexa Cable, Trey Thomas, and Ana-Lucia Young. She also leaves behind her brother's; Roberto Chavira & Carmen Chavira, Mario Chavira and Sara Chavira, and Gustavo Chavira and Hermelinda Chavira, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Rafael Rocha and daughter Zelina Rocha; her parents, Jesus and Maria del Jesus (Chita) Chavira; brothers, Jesus Xavier Chavira and Miguel Chavira; sister, Maria de Rosario (Chayo) Villarreal. We love you, mom! We know you are dancing with dad and Zelina in heaven.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Placitas Senior Center, 41 Camino De Las Huertas, Placitas, NM 87043.
