Donald J. Locke passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; father, Percival; brothers, Jack and Tom; and sister, Mitsy. He is survived by his wife, Laura; and sons, Charles, and David and wife, Pam; grandchildren, Jake, Carly, Samantha, Arianna and Natasha Debevec, David Santi, Danny, Darren, David Jr., and Douglas Locke; and by his great-granddaughters, Layla and Kinsey Locke.

Known to his friends and family as Don, he lived a life of dedicated service to his country. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in World War II, Vietnam, and Korea as a medic and hospital corpsman on several submarines where he earned countless commendations and recognitions for his service and actions. After returning to the states and retiring from the Navy in 1968, Don attended the University of New Mexico and the University of Albuquerque, earning degrees from both. He then continued to serve the men and women of the armed forces as a Pharmacy Technician for the VA Hospital in Albuquerque. In 1984, Don and his wife, Laura, moved to Anchorage, AK where he continued his service with the VA before retiring in 1999. Don then lead the Asset Protection team at the Sears Warehouse in Anchorage.

In 2003, the two moved back to Albuquerque to be near their grandchildren and enjoy retirement. Don's passion for travel led him to explore nearly every continent throughout his life, each providing him with stories and memories to pass on to all of his grandchildren and friends. Donald's memory will live on through his family, whom he loved and cared for deeply, even in his final moments.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Wyoming.

A private Interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
