Della Marie Moseley

d. February 10, 2020

Della Marie (Hoffman) Moseley, 92, beloved mother, was called to her eternal home in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 10, 2020.

Della was born on July 11, 1927 to Claud and Lela Hoffman in Clinton, Oklahoma along with her twin sister, Zella.  Her family moved to Albuquerque in 1934.  Della graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1945.  She married William Elson Moseley in 1946 and had three children.

Della worked for R. L. Harrison (Rust Tractor Co.) from 1947 until 1962.  She went to work for Arthur L. Welsh at his Real Estate office in 1962 and continued working for his son Lee A. Welsh, Realtor until she retired.  Della worked hard to put her three children through college.  Della was active in the Baptist church, having attended Edith Street Baptist, Parkview Baptist and most recently First Baptist West Albuquerque until she became homebound.  She loved to work in the church's nurseries and had served as church clerk.  She read and studied scripture daily.  Della enjoyed gardening.  She had beautiful front and back yards at her home.  She toiled joyfully and took great pleasure in them.  She loved all kinds of flowers but especially enjoyed growing roses in her rose garden.  She grew and canned fruits and vegetables with her twin sister, Zella, who lived with her for many years.  Zella taught Della how to piece together quilts, and they spent many happy hours quilting.  Della loved watching sports, especially basketball.  She was an avid Lobo fan.  Della enjoyed playing dominoes and board games and piecing together puzzles.

Della resided at The Village of Alameda Assisted Living where she was near her twin sister, Zella, until Zella's passing.  Zella provided loving care and companionship for Della and was greatly appreciated.  Della was also surrounded by many wonderful and kind caregivers and friends at The Village.  Kindred's Hospice staff members were of great support for Della and her family. Their kindness and quality of care are greatly appreciated as well.

Della was preceded in death by her parents; three siblings, Dwight Hoffman, Mary Guinn and Zella Boyer;  and her son, James E. Moseley.  Della is survived by two children, daughter, Marilyn Maito (John F.) and son, Kenneth Moseley (Linda); seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.  Also surviving Della are her siblings,  Maxine Jenkins (Frank), Jeanne Butler (George), John Hoffman and her sister-in-law, Ruth Hoffman. Della also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends—whom she loved very much.  She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
