Delia Margot Rojas passed away on Monday, January 16th, 2023. Ms. Rojas was born to Merced Rojas and Teodora "Lola" Galaviz Rojas on October 13th, 1950, in Lubbock, TX. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, Domingo Merced Rojas.
Ms. Rojas graduated from Texico High School (Valedictorian) where she attended school during her beginning of education. She obtained a BA from UNM in Albuquerque and a master’s degree in social work from New Mexico Highlands University, Las Vegas, NM. Delia educated herself by reading, traveling, watching foreign movies/plays, volunteering especially with immigrant communities and domestic violence, these being activities she submerged herself in.
She is survived by her daughter, AnnaLissa Aragon and her partner, Suranda; her youngest daughter, Marissa Cari Urioste and her partner, Ro, both daughters live in Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren include, Marina Reyes Urioste (Justin Torrez, partner) from San Antonio, TX, Alysia Patton (Patrick Joseph, partner), Albuquerque, Luis Mauricio Ramirez, Carlos Armando Ramirez, Delycia Soledad Ramirez and Lucas Christian Ballon, all living in Albuquerque; and great-grandson, Inigo Torrez y Reyes from San Antonio, TX.
Delia Margot is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Rojas- Ramirez (husband Jesus), Albuquerque, Patricia Rojas- Natividad (husband Eliazar) from Texico, NM, Virginia Loera (husband Felix) from Farwell, TX, Hilda Montano Hernandez from Albuquerque; aunt, Mary Nava; uncle, Armando Galavis, and cousins from various locations and Mexico. In addition, she had many special and caring friends.
A Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m., Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 415 Fortuna Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. The reception will follow at the church.
