Dale Alfred Guenther

Dale A. Guenther lost his battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease on Saturday, May 2, 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dale was born on Friday, July 28,1939 to Alfred (Ted) and Rose (Buetow) Guenther in Jamestown, North Dakota. Dale grew up in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School. Dale, from early childhood, was involved in many sports. He was always very proud that he held the Jamestown High School track record for over 20 years. He continued his love for sports throughout his life; he was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan as well as a North Dakota Hockey and North Dakota State Football fan. Dale had deep faith; he was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jamestown. Dale loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Because of his deep love for North Dakota, he requested to be returned to Jamestown as his final resting place.

Dale is survived by his wife, Kay; four daughters, Lisa Guenther McMeen, Lincoln, NE; Stephanie (Ben) Kavalec, Omaha, NE; Misti (Mo) Guenther, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Sheri Guenther, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Eight Grandchildren, Fletcher (Kayleen) McMeen, Lincoln, NE; Hannah (Phillip) Jackman, Omaha, NE; Austin Guenther, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Madeline McMeen, Omaha, NE; Matthew Kavalec, Omaha, NE; Daniel Kavalec, Omaha, NE; Weston Guenther, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Bennet Guenther, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Four great grandchildren, Rohan McMeen, Lincoln, NE; Hattie McMeen, Lincoln, NE; Ellie Jackman, Omaha, NE; Winnie McMeen, Lincoln, NE; Sister, Darla Guenther Hanson, Enderlin, ND; two nephews, Christopher Hanson, Enderlin, ND; Zachary Wescom, Gilbert, AZ; in-laws, Kristyn (John) Dobler, David (Paula) Kuhn; and many friends. Proceeded in death by his parents, Ted and Rose Guenther; Sister, Delores Guenther Kent; and nephew, Jay Wescom.

Celebration of Dale’s life will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Royal Point Home, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the loving care they provided Dale.
