Our beloved sister and aunt, Betty Frances Gonzales, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ben and Eloise Elkins Trujillo; her biological father, Emiterio Ted Gonzales; and sister-in-law, Dianna Trujillo. Betty is survived by her loving brother, David Alan Trujillo and his partner, Minerva Nieto; niece, Michelle Trujillo; nephew, Alex Trujillo and his wife Natalie. She is further survived by many cherished great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and friends.
Betty was born in Clayton, NM. She began her studies in the medical field at Hotel Dieu Hospital in El Paso, TX. She continued her studies in Amarillo, TX, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing-RN. She served as a registered nurse at Northwest Texas Medical Center in Amarillo realizing several accomplishments including serving as a surgical nurse. Her career and commitment to her profession resulted in retirement after 30 years of dedicated service.
Betty was an avid supporter of animals rights. Her advocacy resulted in her adoption of several four legged friends including Sassy, Jack, Jill and Tabatha. Jill was devoted to Betty staying by her side protectively during her final hours.

The family wishes to recognize Michelle Trujillo, her niece, who cared for Betty during her last months, weeks and hours. A special thanks to Monica Nieto who lovingly provided care, comfort, friendship, and support, ensuring a peaceful and love filled departure. Betty loved you both.
