Bertha Ann Skinner (Birdie) Gallegos

Bertha Ann Skinner Gallegos (Birdie) entered into Heaven on September 10, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on July 2, 1924. She was the eldest daughter of Harry and Emma Skinner. Bertha lived her life with an undying faith. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who left a legacy of love and joy for life. Bertha is survived by her children, Gary Gallegos and wife, Jane, Kathleen Sobelman and husband, Howard, Carol Gallegos, Mark Gallegos and wife, Jeanie Kwan Gallegos, Al Gallegos and wife, Marian, Tom Gallegos and wife, Diane, Christine Taylor and husband, Alex, and Leon Vigil. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, as well as a large extended family and many friends. Bertha is preceded in death by her daughter, Allene Wright; her son, Brian Gallegos; and grandchildren, Dennis Rodriguez, Valerie Upshir, and Sean Sanchez; great-granddaughter Aspen Gallegos; daughter-in-law, Carmen Gallegos; and her husband of 32 years, Alfred C. Gallegos. Bertha will be carried to her final resting place by her grandsons, David Gallegos, Marcus Gallegos, Nicholas Gallegos, Brian Gallegos, Michael Gallegos, Alex-James Taylor and Daniel Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Denise Tobin, Andrea Sager, Aubrey Gallegos, Alicia Sisneros and Stephanie Harrell. Visitation will be held at FRENCH-Wyoming on Friday, September 18, 2015, at 5:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3674 Hwy 47 in Peralta, NM.
