Bernice M. Cole

June 22, 1945 - May 7, 2022

Lillie "Bernice" Cole, 76, graduated to heaven on Saturday May 7, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Albuquerque and raised in the Barelas neighborhood. She was a devout Christian who dedicated her life to serving Jesus. She was soulful, humble, graceful and selfless. She was a faithful and supportive wife and a dedicated mother who showered her five children and seven grandchildren with unconditional love. She could always be depended on for a smile, a caring ear, some sensible advice and an unmatched New Mexican meal. And she was sneaky hilarious too. She truly was a beacon of light to all who knew her. She was a highly skilled seamstress and ran her business from her home. She demonstrated the value of hard work and the power of trusting in God. The contributions and sacrifices she made for her family are immeasurable and her family is deeply grateful for the honor of knowing and loving her.

Preceding her in death was her mother, Adella; her father, John; and her sisters, Helen and MaryAnn. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy and Kristy and husband, Chris; her adopted niece/daughter, Marlene and husband, Lawrence; her sons, Daniel and David; her sister, Lucy; her brothers, Tony and Ricky; her husband, Wally; and her grandchildren, Kari, Josh, Aaliyah, Melissa, Jake, Alicia and Gabriel; and her former spouse, Waldo.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna Road NE.
