Alicia (Contreras) Tafoya

Alicia Contreras Tafoya passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 1, 2017. She is survived by her dear sisters, Inez Contreras Maddalen and Elenor Harris of Ft. Worth, TX; her sister-in-law, Sarah Rodriguez and family; and loving nieces, Gloria Cruz-Nighbert and Si’Na’Ya Cruz.
Alicia was born in Dawson, NM and lived most of her adult life in California. She was employed by the Federal Government and had a successful career with NASA and the US Forest Service. Alicia will be missed for her sense of humor, kindness, and generosity.
Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, Fernando and Trinidad Contreras; her husband, Alfonso Tafoya; her sisters, Anna Abrahams and Estella Cruz; and her brother, Ralph Rodriguez.
Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE. The pallbearers are Phil Rodriquez, Leonard Rodriguez, Ralph Rodriguez Jr., Ralph Rodriguez III, Ricardo I Cruz, and Sam Belieu. Honorary pallbearer will be Cynthia Vital.
