Zelda Jiron

January 2, 1969 — May 19, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Zelda Stella Jiron of Santa Fe, beloved wife, mother, and friend. Zelda, 55, transitioned peacefully on May 19, 2024, at Lovelace Hospital. Born in Santa Fe in 1969, to Elena Lucero, she was the cherished daughter of Catalina and Sixto Martinez. Zelda's passion and love for family was evident to all who knew her. She worked proudly as a tax examiner for the State of New Mexico.


Zelda will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 30 years, Simon Jiron, her children Stephanie Jiron and Aaron Jiron, and her son Jonathan. She will also be deeply missed by her cherished fur babies, Monkey, Gigi, and Booboos, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends.


Zelda was greeted in heaven by her parents Catalina and Sixto Martinez, her mother Elena Lucero, her sister Jenny Martinez, her nephew Mario Martinez, niece Deann (Dede) Martinez , sister-in-law Elizabeth Martinez, mother-in-law Cecilia Jiron, brother-in-law Albert Jiron and Gizzy and Chica her beloved fur babies.


A memorial mass and reception to honor Zelda's life will be held at French Funeral Home on Wyoming Blvd in Albuquerque on June 7th, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm. The burial service will take place at a later time. Zelda's memory will forever be cherished by all whose lives she touched.
