Woodrow Leroy Siler, 97, a passed away on June 10, 2016 in his Albuquerque home. He is survived by his daughter, Rozella Drumm of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Woodrow Drumm, Carmalee Pinson, and Ricky Lee Drumm and his wife, Becky; his great-grandchildren, Britney Meilleur and her husband, Peter, Deminica Stout and her husband, Donny, Jeffrey Hugaboom and his wife, Alexia, Rylee Drumm, Amani Drumm and Tiona Drumm; and his great-great grandchildren, Ethan Maisano, Emiana and Eshton Hugaboom, and Sif Stout. He was preceded in death by Rosie Mae Siler, his wife of 53 years, and his second wife, Lorraine K. Beel Siler.

Woody, or "Pop" was born on May 30, 1919 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to Randolph Siler and Mary Stephens Siler, both of Kentucky. The family relocated that same year to Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, where Woody and his other siblings grew up. He graduated from Albuquerque High School, Class of 1937.

Following high school, Woody served in the US Navy twice, once from November 13, 1937 to October 15, 1941, and then he reenlisted on January 5, 1942 following the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served in WWII until September 14, 1945, achieving the rank of Chief Machinist's Mate before being Honorably Discharged. Between his first and second stint in the Navy he was employed by The Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway Company, who promised him his job back on the completion of his military service. He retired in 1979 after 37 years of faithful service as a Brakeman and Conductor.

Services will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016, 3:00 p.m. at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor Scott Thom officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be Woody Drumm, Rick Drumm, Jeffrey Hugaboom, Britney Meilleur, Peter Meilleur and Mark Bronner.

He will be remembered by his family for his constant love and support, but also for his never ending energy. For many years "Pop" served as the primary patriarch for the entire family; he will be forever remembered in the hearts of his family and greatly missed.
