William Wible

In loving memory of William (Bill) Wible 88. A beloved Husband, Son, Father, and Father-in-law passed away December 15th, 2023 in comfort and good care at 88 years of age. Bill was born in Youngstown Ohio and spent his formative years in Greensboro North Carolina-The Quaker South. He graduated from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill United States Navy ROTC. He served tours on two destroyers-and then as a communications office in Keflavik Iceland during the Cold War an operations officer at Rodman Naval base in the Panama Canal Zone during the Vietnam era, and another stint as a Cold War Communications officer US Naval Installation- Chelthenham Maryland.

After twenty years in the Navy he retired to work professionally as a Defense Contractor in Washington DC until his final retirement.

Like many retired military--he moved to Albuquerque in the early 1990's to enjoy the great outdoors and the diverse and robust community.

A lifelong Unitarian, birdwatcher, outdoors environmentalist and enthusiast-he is survived by sons Joe and Steve through his first wife Esperanza (Deceased); Widower to Ruth Rand with whom he became very active in the JCC of Albuquerque. Step sons Rachel, Ross and Mark, step grandchildren --Lillie, Lyla, Imani and grandson Ari.

All his surviving family and friends are thankful for the beautiful, gentle and kind life he touched us with. He is missed but with us always in our hearts.
