William Lawrence Larson

Bill Larson, age 69, of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 due to complications of MS and a stroke.  He was born Friday, April 2, 1954 in Bozeman, Montana to John and Harriet Larson.  Bill grew up in Livonia, Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University in 1972 with a B.S in Chemistry.

In 1975 Bill moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico.  He worked for Sandia Labs in the chemistry department, and then switched to the computer department.  Bill eventually specialized in computer networking.  Beginning in 1992 Bill worked for the New Mexico Court System traveling statewide to network and update computers.  In September 2011 Bill was hired by Los Alamos National Labs as an administrator in computer networking.  He retired from that position in April 2012 due to a stroke.

Bill met his wife, Marcia Lehman, square dancing with the "Swinging Singles".  They married in 1984 and celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in January.

Bill liked to skydive, was an avid reader who enjoyed science fiction and Harry Potter.  He played handbells with the Vista Bells at Monte Vista Christian Church.  He was well known for his quirky sense of humor.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, John and Harriet Larson; his sister Linda Roberts; and his niece Shannon Rariden.

Bill is survived by his wife, Marcia Larson; and their son, Phillip Larson.  Also mourning him are his older sister, Lori Rariden; brother-in-law Bob Rariden; their adult children, Bobby, Maddie, John, and Michael; Marcia's brother, Walt Lehman; sister-in-law Jennifer Thorne-Lehman; and their adult children, Blair Sallee and Angela Corona; and many great nieces, great nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Morningstar Assisted Living and the Ambercare Hospice, both of whom kept Bill comfortable especially during this last year.

A Memorial Service will be held at Monte Vista Christian Church on Saturday July 22, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.   In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
