Walter Stanley Krieger

It is with heavy hearts that announce the passing of Walter S. Krieger, at the age of 89. Walter passed away the evening of Saturday, February 10, 2024. For the last 6 years, he lived in Los Lunas, NM with his daughter, Shannan and her husband, Joe.  

Walter was a Mason at the Sharon Shrine Temple in Tyler, Texas, a Navy SEAL for 15 years on the USS ODAX. 

He loved making woodwork, but more than anything, loved his dog buddy – his best friend!

Those left to mourn his passing include daughter, Shannan Jeffries and son in law, Joe Jeffries, granddaughters; Samantha Mullen and Melissa Baker of Texas, great-granddaughter; Jolena Jeffries of Roswell, NM and 10 great-grandchildren in Texas, and Maribel Gonzalez, whom he called his “Angel” she was like a daughter who helped him through a lot. 

Pallbearers will be Joe Jeffries, Damacio Montoya, Steve Reynoso, Leonel Garcia, Damacio Montoya Jr.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, 9:15 a.m., at St Matthews Episcopal Church, 400 Huning Ranch Loop SW, Los Lunas, NM 87031.

Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery; 12:30 p.m. where he will be laid to rest with Military Honors alongside his wife, Sally Jean.
