Virginia Riddle

Virginia (Martin) Riddle, age 92, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on February 8, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on October 25, 1933, in Caldwell, Kansas, to Ivan Wayne Martin and Vera Lois Fauchier (Martin). Virginia was raised in Wellington, Kansas, where she graduated from Wellington High School in 1951.

Virginia joined the U.S. Navy in March 1952, where she met Robert "Bob" Riddle. They were married on November 6, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts. Virginia served in the Navy until November 1954, and Bob served for nearly 19 years. In August 1960, they relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Virginia later worked for 20 years as a Personnel Administrator for SuperValu. More personal reflections and memories will be shared during the funeral service.

Virginia is survived by her son, Michael Riddle and his late wife Joanne Riddle, and his children Michelle and husband Scott, Melissa and her children, and step-daughter Lauren; her daughter, Vicki Reinacher, and her children Johanna and husband Mark and their children, Danetta and husband Chris and their children, and Shanya and husband Dominic and their children; and her daughter, Terri Gonzales, and husband Richard, and their son Alan and wife Samantha; her niece, Kary Hughes and husband Mike and their children and grandchildren; her nephew, Craig Martin and wife Kathy and their children. She is also survived by her cousin, Helen White and her family, and also by all her close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Lois Martin; her husband, Robert Riddle; her brother, Eugene Martin, and other loved ones.

The family extends appreciation to the caregivers at Bosque Trails Hospice, especially Erica, and to Vicki Reinacher, who cared for Virginia over the past four years while she resided at Coronado Villa Retirement Resort.

The funeral service will be officiated by Kyle Skartwed on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH-Wyoming, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. A reception will immediately follow in the Reception Center.

Virginia will be laid to rest alongside her husband at 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM, where military honors will be rendered.

Pallbearers are Richard Gonzales, Alan Gonzales, Mike Riddle, Craig Martin, Paul Casaus, and Cameron Stern.

There will also be a Celebration of Life for all of Virginia's friends at Coronado Villa Retirement Resort, on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
