Virginia O. Rodriguez went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. She was born and raised in Ranchos de Taos, NM, September 30, 1936, to the late Manuel and Agustina Valdez.
She enjoyed roller skating in the Martinez Hall and riding her beautiful turquoise bicycle all around the village.
Her family home was directly across the street from the San Francisco de Asis Catholic Mission Church where she regularly attended services as a child, and young woman in her twenties.
She attended The Loretto Academy in Santa Fe, NM, and had many fond memories of her school days there.
While working as a nurse in Alamogordo, NM, Virginia met the love of her life, Juan Rodriguez.
Virginia and Juan first made their home in Alamogordo and raised their children.
They later moved to Albuquerque where Virginia worked as a special educational assistant teacher for APS for many years, before retiring. She loved telling stories about the children she taught over the years.
After they retired, Virginia and Juan spent their time reading and gardening. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Juan, and their son Johnny Rodriguez. She is survived by her children Sandra Toman, Deborah Alderete, Mark Gonzales, Carla Lopez (David), Rick Gonzales, Christina Rodriguez, Eddie Rodriguez, and her grandchildren, Bernadette Armijo, John Gonzales, great grandchildren, Mia Armijo, Diego Armijo, Jacob Terrazas, Luke Terrazas, and other family and friends.
She was a beautiful, kind, supportive and loving woman.
She will be greatly missed and remembered with love.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Claudette and Nicole Mora, and Margaret Lopez.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 10am, French Funerals, Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
