Virginia Kay Lucas, 83. Our beloved mother, daughter, and spouse passed away on January 6, 2026 in Albuquerque, NM. Kay was teacher for many years in the Albuquerque after she earned her Masters degree from New Mexico Tech. She taught at West Mesa High School, El Dorado High School, St Joseph's and at the Albuquerque Academy for 25 years. Kay was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading as well as spending time with her pets and family. After retiring, Kay enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband. She is preceded in death by her husband, George John Lucas, Jr. and her daughter, Sheridan LaVigne. Kay is survived by her oldest daughter Katrina Lucas.
