Virgil Verne

Virgil Verne Spratte was born June 15, 1933 to Garnet and Virgil Spratte in Rockview, "almost heaven," West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Barbara Jean and an infant son, Orin Virgil. He is survived by three children, Sharon Cuaron and her husband, Daniel, Jeffrey Spratte and his wife, Debee, and David Spratte and his wife, Janice. Verne has six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Verne was a Christian and member of Rio Grande Baptist Church. He was a deacon there and treasurer for over 50 years.
Verne was a proud Korean war Army veteran. He was stationed on the Demilitarized Zone in Korea and Hawaii. He had many stories to tell about his time in the service of his country.
He was an accountant and bookkeeper for his working career. Verne loved to garden, work on his classic cars, attend church services and spend time with his family.
Verne was a humble man with a great sense of humor and a love for the Lord.
