Vicki Lynn (Griffith) Dolash, 65, of Stagecoach Road, Albuquerque NM, formerly of Worthington, OH passed away May 11, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Decatur, IL, daughter of the late Pershing and Maxine Griffith.
Vicki earned an A.S. degree in nursing at Vincennes University and a B.S. degree in nursing at Otterbein University. She was a surgical nurse at the Ohio State University Hospital for twenty years. Vicki was briefly employed at Grant Hospital as a Staff Development Manager. She was further employed for thirteen years as a surgical nurse at Nationwide Children's Hospital. In New Mexico, Vicki worked at the Physician's Surgery Center of Albuquerque.
Because of her son Derek, Vicki became a rugby fan, watching him play for Thomas Worthington High School and the Ohio State University, volunteering with the Ohio Rugby Classic, and attending the Rugby World Cup in England this past autumn with her husband and son. She and her husband enjoyed travel in North America and in Western and Central Europe. She especially enjoyed time spent with close friends, whether it was travelling or sharing a good laugh or sharing a good wine. Vicki was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.
She is survived by Tom, her husband of 43 years, son Derek, of Phoenix, AZ, sister Sandra (David) Brown, of Westfield, NY, nephews, Seth, Joshua, Lucas, Justin Brown and their families and niece Shana Dolash of Springfield, IL.
A celebration of Vicki's life will be held in Columbus, OH at a later date.
