A Tribute to a Life Well-Lived
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Major Vernon Ronald "Ron" White, who departed this world on June 26th, 2025, in Redding California. Born on November 1st, 1934, in Peabody Kansas, Ron lived a life full of love, laughter, and remarkable accomplishments, leaving behind cherished memories for all who had the privilege to know him.
Ron enlisted in the Army in 1957 and began his travel from various bases within the United States including Fort Benning, Fort Ord, Fort Riley & the Pentagon located in Kansas, Georgia, California & Virginia as well as multiple overseas assignments including Iceland, Korea, Vietnam, Netherlands & Belgium. He rose through the ranks to retire as a Major from the Pentagon in 1977. Over his military career he received numerous medals and commendations including the Good Conduct Medal, Republic of Vietnam Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Combat Infantry Badge, Joint Service Commendation Medal & the Bronze Star. He fought in the Vietnam Counter Offensive PHII & PHIII. After retirement he worked as a legal administrator for various law firms located in Washington D.C., Roswell NM, Albuquerque NM, Irvine CA and finally settled down in Redding CA working for Moss & Enocian until he retired. Ron married Rebecca "Becky" in December 1960 and remained married to her until her death in February of 2025.
Ron is survived by son, Christopher; granddaughter, Caroline; brothers, Ted (Salli), Jerry & Jim (Paula); sisters, Bev Gournelos (Dimitri) & Marilyn Robertson; and sisters-in-law, Pam White & Beth Reeves. He is reunited now with parents, Edith & Ross; wife, Rebecca "Becky"; son, Mark Alan; granddaughter, Cecila; brother, Doug; and sister, Sharon McCubbin in peace and eternal rest.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Ron's extraordinary life. A memorial service will be held on July 17th, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University Reception Center, Albuquerque, NM 87102 with a graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Ron will receive full military honors honoring his exceptional military career.

Ron will be dearly missed, but his spirit and love will remain forever in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
