Valentine Franklin Olivas, Frank, passed away in his Albuquerque home, on May 28, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 71 years young.
Frank briefly served in the U.S. Army before beginning a 30 year career with the Albuquerque police Department. His time in uniform reflected his strong sense of duty and responsibility-qualities that remained central throughout his life. Frank balanced discipline with kindness, but it was his kindness that always guided his actions. He lived a life marked by dedication, service and a deep commitment to his family and friends. Frank's legacy is one of strength, integrity and quiet generosity.
He loved camping, hiking, traveling and spontaneous day trips. One of his most cherished character traits was his sense of humor. It brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
Frank was preceded in death by his younger brother, Mark Olivas.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Lalande; his two sons, Jess and John; daughter-in-law, Martha; his three granddaughters, Olivia, Valentina and Raquel, whom he treasured; two older brothers and their wives, Dan and Stella, and Fred and Irene, and Mark's wife, Margie. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
