Valaria D. Anderson

Valaria D. Anderson, 100, died June 10, 2015. She is survived by her children, Lucy Day and husband Frank, Nain Anderson, Mary Paige Johnson and husband Roger, John Anderson and wife Katherine; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many other family and friends. Valaria was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents Chauncey and Estelle Dovell, and two children, Jane, and Robert. The daughter of an Army officer she traveled to China where she went to school, to the Philippines where she met Robert who was also in the Army. Her love of travel took her to many countries. Valaria enjoyed sewing, reading, knitting, arts and crafts. She was very active in her church and volunteered for many organizations. Mrs. Anderson was a longtime resident of Manzano Del Sol where a Memorial Service will be Thursday, June 25, 2015, 2:00 pm., 5201 Roma Ave NE. After cremation Valaria will be laid to rest with Robert in Arlington National Cemetery, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1500 Chelwood Park Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112.
